Golfing in and around Stirling

If you like history with your golfing break, then Stirling is the place to go. Set below the castle parapets is an excellent 18 hole course.

Fishing in and around Stirling

If you are a keen fisher then on your visit to Stirling you will be able to take in a spot of fishing. There are fine trout fisheries on the outskirts of the ancient burgh of Stirling while just to the north-west of the Trossachs provide not only the 'jewel' Lake of Menteith but a string of brown trout lochs set in the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Forest Park with parking and picnic places and inexpensive bank fishing.

Stirling and Whisky

Scotland's national drink, whisky - in the Gaelic, uisge beatha (pronounced oosh-ga beh-huh), meaning water of life - has been produced here for as long as anyone can remember.Scotland is well known for its whisky and Stirling and the surrounding area has its share of distilleries.

Falkirk Wheel

Falkirk Wheel is a  short drive of approximately 20 minutes, this will take you to this fantastic piece of engineering situated in Camelon near Falkirk.

Open Top Bus

One of the ways to find out about Stirling's history is to take the City Sightseeing Stirling Tour.

Throughout the summer the open top bus run regularly approximately every 30/45 minutes and stops in a variety of locations.
