The Stirling Observer copies held are 1836-1980
Archives are original records produced by official bodies, societies or individuals that are preserved because of thier continuing historical and evidential value. Archival records are unique and require special storage and handling to ensure thier survival
The Wallace Monument plans and records are held in archives and the Robert the Bruce Charter
Pencil and Notepad, we do not use pens in the Archives
The office is open to the public on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (closed Thursdays and Fridays) from 9.30 - 12.30 and 1.30 - 4.30 (the office closes for lunch between 12.30 - 1.30). While no appointment is necessary, it is advisable to contact us in advance, as reader spaces are limited.

Stirling Archives is a five minute walk from the multistore Morrisons, who have a resturaunt and there is are a variety of shops to enjoy in the estate
The Archives is accessible to wheelchairs and we do our best to accommodate disabled users. Please telephone in advance if you have any special requirements.
Because our documents are irreplaceable, we do not let them leave the Archive searchroom. If they are not too fragile or subject to copyright and other restrictions, we may photocopy individual items, or you may be allow to photograph them.
No we keep the archive clean and tidy
We keep a record of all the visitors to the archives by using a sign in book therefore we can record the amount of visitor we receive annualy last year we had and this averages at
We have limited resources but have people who work on a voluntary basis.

Yes, we are keen for young people to be interested in the Archive and organised school groups are always welcome although we have limited space so the numbers would have to be limited
