In the Stirling Council area people of all ages are offered a variety of ways to influence the decisions that affect the way they live. For example:

Community councils - 41 Community Councils were revitalised through an award-winning campaign in 2001.   Consultation on Community Council boundaries during the Summer of 2006 resulted in the formation of a new Community Council for the Hillpark & Milton area.together with a  request to form a new Community Council from the community of Throsk in 2007 means there are now boundaries for 43 community councils.

Area Community Planning Forums - community planning groups, community councils and others have joined together to form Area Community Planning Forums.   Seven geographically linked groupings have been established giving communities the opportunity to work together on common issues
