Housing Improvements

Stirling Council's annual budget for home improvements is £5.4m. This is separate from the day to day repairs and programmed maintenance. It is often called the Capital Programme. The funds come from:

  • the funds the Scottish Government allow us to borrow;
  • the 25% of the receipts from houses bought under the right to buy and from any other sales of land etc; and
  • funding directly from the rent tenants pay (which is called Capital Funded from Current Revenue or CFCR).

Every tenant has been sent a Guide to "The Housing Improvement Programme". [pdf, 673KB] This explains how the budget is split up how works are undertaken.
We have also produced 2 leaflets, explaining what happens when your home is receiving a new kitchen [pdf, 140KB] or bathroom.[pdf, 125KB]
