Scottish alternative rock legends The Vaselines are famed for their connections with Nirvana, who covered three of their songs and openly supported them, with Kurt Cobain once describing Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee as his most favorite songwriters in the whole world”.
The band formed in 1986 and split shortly after, but their return to the music scene in recent years has been welcomed with open arms. They released second studio album Sex with an X in 2010, which was hailed as a triumphant return” (BBC) and a brilliant comeback” (The Guardian).
Joined by Belle and Sebastian members Stevie Jackson and Bobby Kildea, the band are back with a bang – but their live shows remain rare, so don’t miss this opportunity to see one of Scotland’s greatest rock bands at the Tolbooth.
