..what is a civil marriage?

A civil marriage is a ceremony performed by a Registrar or Marriage Officer. This can take place at any venue or location in Scotland.

Your marriage can be carried out at a range of venues to suit your needs.  As Stirling is such a beautiful area and has many historic and scenic locations, we are sure you will find the perfect place to exchange your vows.

If you would like to be married at one of our registration offices, the marriage can be conducted by appointment from Monday to Saturday. Please contact the relevant office once you have decided on a date to provisionally book your date, time and marriage room.

If you wish to be married at an approved venue,you can do so any day of the week, even on a Sunday! Please contact both the venue and the Registrar to check availability for the date and time that you would like and to make a provisional booking.
